Christopher Clouet, the current White Plains superintendent and finalist for the top job in Tarrytown, will conduct a site visit and public forum Wednesday. Clouet will be available in the Administration Building from 5 to 7 p.m.

The Board of Education of the Public Schools of the Tarrytowns will look to appoint Clouet at its Thursday meeting after a site visit and background check.

Clouet, if hired, will replace Superintendent Howard Smith. Smith is retiring after 11 years.

“We felt that Dr. Clouet's previous experiences as an educator are an excellent match for the Public Schools of the Tarrytowns,” School Board President B. Joseph Lillis said when the decision was announced.

Clouet said he was excited about the opportunity.

"The opportunity to work in Tarrytown is exciting for me," Clouet said in a statement. "Because of its size, I look forward to being able to have more direct contact with students while continuing to work on 21st century challenges facing all schools."
