Team of students and teachers, along with parent volunteers, will use lab equipment to investigate water chemistry and quality, tides and weather. Students collect data and make observations of the abiotic and biotic factors by the river at Matthiessen Park.
Students’ findings will contribute to their ongoing study of ecosystems.
“Hudson River Day is an opportunity for hands-on inquiry-based learning for students,” teacher Cristina Fiol said.
“It provides students with an authentic experience to develop a love an appreciation of the river, which is in their backyard,” teacher Julie Rostowski added.
