SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. -- Incumbent Mayor Ken Wray outran seven-year village Trustee Karin Wompa on Wednesday, taking about 68 percent of the unofficial votes, according to the Westchester County Board of Elections.
Wray's unofficial lead was 882 to 418 votes late Wednesday.
Wompa ran with the Democratic Party endorsement, but lost.
Wray, previously backed by Democrats, created a new party called Unite Sleepy Hollow and ran with a ticket that included Republicans.
All three Unite Sleepy Hollow candidates for village trustee led the other three Democratic opponents, according to unofficial election returns.
Incumbent Glenn Rosenbloom had about 23 percent of the votes. John Leavy and Denise Scaglione each had about 21 percent of the votes.
Trailing with about 11 to 12 percent of the total votes for village trustee were Democrats Jose Chevere Jr., Mary Linder and incumbent Bruce Campbell.
The mayor is paid $11,400 a year and the trustees receive $4,750 annually.
Wray and Wompa have had a rift since at least December when the mayor directed village staff to avoid contact with the Sleepy Hollow Downtown Revitalization Corp. -- a nonprofit of which Wompa was the board president.
