TARRYTOWN, N.Y. Tarrytown trustees vote Monday night on a 2012-13 Capital Budget that totals $553,250 in the General Fund and approximately $2.59 million in the Water Fund.
Projects in the Capital Fund are subject to further bond resolutions and are not automatically approved.
General Fund expenditures include $190,000 for a street sweeper and $130,000 to upgrade lighting in all village facilities to conserve energy. A pickup truck with a snow plow and garbage dumping capability is included under the Recreation Department for $32,500.
The expenditures also include $55,000 in Public Works projects such as curb, sidewalk and street sign replacement. Approximately $21,500 is also listed under the Public Works Department for radio replacement under FCC regulations.
Several Fire Department purchases are included in the General Fund, such as $62,000 for radio replacement, $33,000 for turnout gear and $17,000 for nine gas detectors and six calibration stations.
The Water Fund budget includes continued water main replacement and improvement projects. Phase six of the water main replacement project is included in this budget for $2.4 million. That includes replacing 4,850 feet of pipe on Cobb Lane, Oak Avenue, McKeel Avenue, Beech Lane, Walden Road and Suncliff Drive. Village Administrator Michael Blau told trustees during last week's work session that the project should start in the fall.
Also included in the Water Fund budget is $115,000 for engineering and design services for the next phase in the water main replacement project and $52,500 for engineering and design services for the next phase of the cleaning and cement mortar lining project.
