Lamarr Adams, 28, of East 229th Street in the Bronx was arrested about 7:40 p.m. Thursday after a short-term narcotics investigation conducted by the Greenburgh Drug and Alcohol Task Force.
Greenburgh police said that Adams was arrested after a brief foot pursuit near 2 Main St. in the Village of Irvington.
Adams was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony.
Police said Adams was found in possession of two bags -- each containing about 3.5 grams of a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine. That weight of bag is commonly referred to as an "eight-ball."
Adams was arraigned in local court where bail was set at $5,000. Adams, unable to make bail, was sent to Westchester County Jail pending a court appearance on Monday.
