TARRYTOWN, N.Y. Tarrytown police say a 45-year-old man fleeced two Continental Manor residents out of money by telling them he had a sick father.
Ronald Snyder has been charged with two counts of petty larceny, a misdemeanor. He is accused of scamming $150 from two residents and trying to hoodwink a third.
Police say Snyder first told a resident of the South Broadway condominiums on May 28 that he needed $82 to pay for his father's medicine. The woman gave him $100.
Snyder allegedly told another woman on May 29 that he needed cash for his sick father who lived in an upstairs apartment. She gave him $50.
Police said they arrested Snyder about 4 p.m. May 30 after he knocked on a third resident's window and asked for money.
Village Justice Kyle McGovern arraigned Snyder and set bail at $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond. Snyder was taken to the Westchester County jail.

Car Accident: A two-car accident on Wildey Street around 11 p.m. May 29 left a woman with a head contusion. She was taken to Westchester Medical Center.
Child Hit by Car: A 9-year-old child riding a bicycle was struck by a car on Crest Drive around 2 p.m. May 28. Police said the child suffered a head laceration and was taken to Westchester Medical Center.
Boat Fire: Tarrytown firefighters responded to a fire on a boat in the Hudson River around 5 p.m. May 27.
