Tarrytown Police Probe False Alarm At EF School

 

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – Tarrytown firefighters were called to a false alarm after someone at the EF School emptied a fire extinguisher on the third floor of a building.

 

Officials responded with “a full fire department response” to the school around 10 p.m. on June 9 to find there was no fire. Police said when someone emptied the fire extinguisher, it set off the fire alarm.

 

Police have filed a false report case and took the fire extinguisher as evidence.

 

Police also reported the following items:

 

Loose Dog: Tarrytown police helped Sleepy Hollow police catch a loose pit bull on Tower Hill Road around 11 p.m. on June 13. The dog was turned over to its owner.

 

Hit and Run: A motorist reported his car was struck by another car near the 300 block of South Broadway. The caller said the other car refused to stop and left the area.

 

Car Accident: Two cars got into an accident on June 13 in a South Broadway parking lot around 10 a.m.

 

Hit and Run: Police were notified when a car hit a Bee Line Bus and drove away June 13 on Cortlandt Street around 3:21 p.m. The car's mirror caused a minor scratch to the rear driver's side of the bus.

 

Peeping Tom: A Marting Avenue resident called police on June 10 after she spotted a man in his 30s looking into her living room window and he ran away around 8 p.m.

 

Marijuana Bust: Police charged Michael S. Muso, 23, with fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor, after he smoked it in front of a police officer on June 10.
