Sleepy Hollow Woman Reports Assault On Son

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – Tarrytown police have charged a man with endangering the welfare of a child after a Sleepy Hollow woman reported her son was assaulted in Patriot's Park.

James H. Zorn, 56, faces a misdemeanor charge.

Police say the child's mother reported the assault around 4 p.m. on Aug. 19. The mother also provided a photo of her son's neck to police the next day. The son's age was not released by police.

Police also reported the following items:

• A Castle Heights Avenue resident spotted a coyote in her yard around noon on Aug. 22.

• A sick raccoon was spotted in a Walden Road yard around 7:30 a.m. on Aug. 22.

• A woman told police she was struck in the face by a piece of bubble gum after a passing motorist threw it out the window on North Broadway around 5 p.m. on Aug. 21.

• A driver told police a blue van forced her car off the road, causing damage to one of her tires, while she was driving on East Elizabeth Street. on Aug. 21 around 4:30 p.m.

• A Martling Avenue resident told police two tires and rims were stolen from his car around 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 21.

• A Union Avenue resident spotted a coyote in his backyard around 3 p.m. on Aug. 20. The coyote ran off when police tried to approach it.

• A fire truck struck and dislodged a metal and concrete pillar, damaging its side, while trying to navigate out of a parking lot in the 300 block of South Broadway on Aug. 19.

• A Tarryhill Road resident reported his mailbox had been knocked to the ground overnight on Aug. 19.
