Police: Sleepy Hollow Woman Kicked, Bit Officer

SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. – A 34-year-old woman struck, kicked and bit a police officer during a traffic stop on Tuesday, Sleepy Hollow police said.

Ana Rosas of Sleepy Hollow was charged with assaulting a police officer, a violent felony, obstructing governmental administration, a misdemeanor, and two traffic violations.

Sleepy Hollow Police Chief Gregory Camp said officers stopped Rosas' car on Valley Street after she went through a stop sign without stopping around 3 p.m. Camp said police stopped her car and found Rosas did not have a license.

Rosas refused to get out of her car after police told her it would be impounded, Camp said. She then hit a police officer with her pocketbook and kicked him in the knee, Camp said.

Police took Rosas to headquarters, where she bit an officer on the arm while beings secured, Camp said.

Rosas was arraigned and taken to the Westchester County Jail. She is due back in Sleepy Hollow Village Court on Monday.

Camp said the police officer's bite wound was treated at Phelps Memorial Hospital Center.
