Man Charged With Stealing Prescription Drugs From Apartment In Northern Westchester, Police Say

A 33-year-old man has been charged after police say he stole prescription medications from an apartment in Northern Westchester.

Yorktown Police say they received a call from a resident of Beaver Ridge Apartments (1965 Allan Avenue) regarding a suspicious incident on Sunday, April 28 around 9 a.m.

Further investigation revealed that prescription pills had been stolen from the apartment in question, according to police.

Police say the suspect entered the apartment on three separate occasions with the intent of stealing prescription drugs.

The suspect was located and arrested Monday, April 29. He was identified as Joshua Mintz of Poughkeepsie, according to police.

At the police station, Mintz was allegedly found to be in possession of a quantity of Oxycodone pills.

Mintz was charged with three counts of second-degree burglary, Class C felonies, as well as seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor.

Mintz was unable to post his $5,0000 cash bail or $10,000 bond and was remanded to the custody of the Westchester County Department of Corrections. He is scheduled to return to Yorktown Justice Court on Thursday, May 2.
