TARRYTOWN, N.Y. - Robert F. Lavelle, a lifelong Tarrytown resident, died March 10. He was 81.
Lavelle was born June 2, 1931, in Tarrytown. He worked as a foreman at General Motors Corp. for 45 years, retiring in 1998. He served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. He was a member of UAW Local 664 and the NRA.
Lavelle is survived by his wife Shirley of Sleepy Hollow; son Ricky (Robin) of Yonkers; a grandson; two step grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Robert.
Calling hours are Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Coffey Funeral Home Inc. in Tarrytown. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Chapel and the interment follows on the grounds of Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
