Karl J. Chepiga, 66, Longtime Sleepy Hollow Resident, Vietnam War Veteran

SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. - Karl J. Chepiga, a long time Sleepy Hollow resident, died Nov. 5. He was 66. 

Chepiga was born Sept. 7, 1947, in Philadelphia, Pa., to John and Hermine Kozak Chepiga. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from La Salle University. He was an assistant comptroller with Lee National Corporation in New York City. He was a member of the U.S. Armed Forces and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. 

Chepiga is survived by his wife, Patricia of Sleepy Hollow; children, David (Jacqueline) of Bedford Hills and Laura (Richard) Sullivan of Peekskill; four grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Petkin of Brookfield, Conn., and Sr. Dolores Chepiga of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Calling hours are Friday, Nov. 8 from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 9 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Coffey Funeral Home in Tarrytown. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11 at Transfiguration Church in Tarrytown. Interment will follow at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
