IRVINGTON, N.Y. Jean Marie Olwell of Irvington died Friday, Sept. 14, at her home. She was 86.
Born in Chicago, she was the third daughter of Mabel and James Solon. She was married to John Olwell, a highly decorated World War II hero.
Olwell is survived by two daughters, Jean DeStaso and Patricia Fatato; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at Church of the Immaculate Conception in Irvington. Visiting hours are 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home in Dobbs Ferry.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Luigi Fatato Foundation for the benefit of Jean's great-grandson, 14-year-old Austin DeGiorgio, who is suffering from acute lympho-blastic leukemia.
