James M. Haggerty, 92, Of Sleepy Hollow

SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. -- James M. Haggerty, a lifelong resident of Sleepy Hollow, died Tuesday, April 26. He was 92.

He was born Nov.4, 1923, to Charles and Catherine Martin Haggerty.

He graduated from North Tarrytown High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II. 

He had a long career in the automobile manufacturing industry having worked for General Motors for many years and finally retiring as a supervisor for Ford Motor Company in Mahwah, N.J. He also had been a member of the National Guard Communications Squad 274.

He is survived by his children, James C. (Debra) of North Salem, Robert D. of Mahopac, Joan (Matthew) Venier of Emerson, Ga. and Nancy (Michael) Caterino of Oxford, Conn.; seven granddaughters; one great grandchild; and brothers, Charles and William, both of Sleepy Hollow.

He was predeceased by his wife Mary; his brothers John and Daniel; and sisters Margaret, Emma, Katherine, Ann and Mary.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday at the Coffey Funeral Home, where services will be at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
