Bharara said that Patrick White, who operates R & L Construction Inc., a Yonkers-based firm, was also sentenced in U.S. District Court in White Plains, to one year of home confinement.
White was found guilty of one count of failing to pay millions in payroll taxes accumulated by his business between 2005 and 2011, Bharara said.
White was further ordered by Judge Cathy Seibel to liquidate land and buildings that he owns to repay the $3,758,000 owed to the Internal Revenue Service.
The investigation was conducted with the help of criminal investigators from the IRS and the U.S. Department of Justice’s Tax Division, Bharara said.
Assistant U.S. Attorney John P. Collins, Jr., was in charge of the prosecution.
