IRVINGTON, N.Y. A second man accused of third degree grand larceny appeared in Irvington Justice Court on Monday.
Quenton S. Frazier, 20, was arrested on July 6. He is currently a co-defendant, but charged separately, in a case with 22-year-old Bronx resident James T. Knox. Knox also appeared in court Monday.
Police say Knox used a false check created by a group of people to deposit $7,000 into his bank account. The check was created after the group got access to an Irvington woman's checks and personal information.
Both cases were adjourned to August 1 after Frazier authorized the transfer of his case from Legal Aid to another attorney.
Defendents fail to appear in court
Joel Guerrier, 33, failed to appear in court Monday on charges of operating a vehicle with suspended registration, operating a motor vehicle without insurance and second degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle. Guerrier also owes $225 to the court for unrelated tickets.
The District Attorneys office is offering a plea bargain, which would reduce the charges to a misdemeanor. Guerriers case was adjourned to August 1, noting that if he failed to appear on that date the court would issue an arrest warrant.
Cassandra Wallace, 21, also failed to appear in court on charges of first degree possession of a forged instrument, citing an issue with getting transportation money.
Justice Desmond C.B. Lyons noted Wallaces sporadic appearances, saying she has had a number of incidences when she failed to appear Wallaces attorney asked Lyons not to issue a bench warrant. Lyons decided to issue the warrant, but said hed hold off until the end of the day.
ACD granted for marijuana charge
William K. Guthrie-Goss, 18, was granted a one-year adjournment and contemplation of dismissal (ACD) for the charge of possession of marijuana, meaning that all charges will be dropped if he is not arrested during after during that year. He was also sentenced to five hours of community service.
