Tarrytown Votes Tuesday in County, State Races

 

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – The polls in Tarrytown will be opening at 6 a.m. and closing at 9 p.m. on Tuesday for several town and county elections. Here's everything you need to know about the candidates that will appear on your ballot.

Greenburgh Town Supervisor

Paul Feiner (incumbent)

Party Affiliations: Democrat, Working Families, Independence

Education: Bachelor's degree from Fordham University, law degree from St. John's Law School

Experience: 10 terms as town supervisor, eight years as a Westchester County Legislator

Goals: Feiner wants to consolidate government, bring new businesses to Greenburgh, begin mulching leaves, reconstructing a new Tappan Zee Bridge and turning the old Tappan Zee Bridge into a high line.

Greenburgh Town Clerk

Sherron Fantauzzi

Party Affiliations: Independence

Judith Beville (incumbent)

Party Affiliations: Democrat, Working Families

Greenburgh Town Justice

Bonnie Orden

Party Affiliations: Independence, Working Families

Walter Rivera

Party Affiliations: Democrat, Independence, Working Families

Arlene Gordon-Oliver (incumbent)

Party Affiliations: Democrat

Delores Brathwaite

Party Affiliations: Democrat, Independence

Greenburgh Town Council

Kevin Morgan (incumbent)

Party Affiliations: Democrat, Working Families, Independence

Education: Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Archbishop Stepinac High School, Westchester Community College

Experience: Greenburgh Town Council, Greenburgh Planning Board, Legal Aid Society of Westchester Criminal Investigator, 21 years on the Greenburgh Police Force, 10 years with the Fairview Fire Department, member and former president of the Elmsford Rotary Club, and work in Greenburgh Comptroller's office and engineering office.

Goals: Morgan says the toughest challenge right now is the economy. He wants to look at what's going on in the town and see if there's something that can be done to make the town run better and save money.

Westchester County Board of Legislators District 8

Alfreda Williams (incumbent)

Party Affiliations: Democrat

Education: Bachelor's degree from Queens College City University of New York, master's degree from Teachers College Columbia University

Experience: One term with the Westchester County Board of Legislators, served as Greenburgh Town Clerk between 1994 and 2007, Greenburgh resident since 1974, previous work with New York State Education Department and New York State Department of Labor

New York State Supreme Court (three candidates running for two seats)

Edward Borrelli

Party Affiliations: Republican, Conservative

Education: Bachelor's degree from Manhattan College, law degree from New York Law School

Experience: Special Referee in the Supreme Court, former Yonkers City Court Judge.

Robert M. DiBella

Party Affiliations: Democrat, Republican, Independence, Conservative, Working Families

Experience: Acting Supreme Court Justice, former Westchester County Judge

Paul Marx

Party Affiliations: Democrat, Independence, Working Families

Education: Bachelor's degree from SUNY Plattsburgh, law degree from New York Law School

Experience: 28-year practicing trial and appellate attorney based in White Plains. Marx has represented several types of cases before the state Supreme Court.
