TARRYTOWN, N.Y. Life after cancer can be meaningful and productive.
That's the message the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center wants to send Thursday as it celebrates National Cancer Survivors Day.
The cancer center will bring together approximately 200 cancer survivors and medical staff at the DoubleTree Hotel to allow cancer patients treated at Sleepy Hollow to connect with other survivors, celebrate milestones in their cancer journey, and recognize the health care providers, families, and friends who have supported them along the way, the center announced.
Survivors will gather from 6-9 p.m. Rye resident Kate Conn will talk at the event. Conn co-founded The Wig Exchange, a network that provides well-cared-for wigs to Westchester women who have cancer. Barbershop group Take 4 will perform.
The Memorial Sloan-Kettering cancer center treats patients at Phelps Memorial Hospital Center in Sleepy Hollow, offering chemotherapy, radiation therapy and support services.
