TARRYTOWN, N.Y. One Tarrytown resident believes some mischievous students tried to steal a pile of rubbish from his property adjacent to the EF School, police said
The Castle Heights Avenue resident told police he believed a group of students had tried to steal shrubs, a lawn mower and a basketball hoop from his property around 10 p.m. May 18.
The items had been left at the access points to the EF School of the driveway, he said.
Police also reported the following items:
Disorderly Conduct: Police charged a 35-year-old man with disorderly conduct, a violation after they said he tried to kick out the rear windows to a car at 330 S. Broadway.
Underage Drinking: Tarrytown police issued several underage alcohol possession citations and village code violations after a group of students were found in Neperan Park after dark May 19.
Sick Raccoon: A sick raccoon was spotted on South Broadway near Tarrytown Honda around 9:30 a.m. May 19. The raccoon was gone before officers had arrived at the scene.
False Alarm: Karey A. Sigmund, 40, has been charged with second-degree falsely reporting an incident, a violent felony, after officials said she pulled a fire alarm at the DoubleTree Hotel around midnight May 18. Sigmund was released on $1,000 cash bail after first being taken to Westchester County Medical Center on a suicide watch.
Damaged Car: A man told police May 18 his car's driver side panel was damaged while it was parked on North Broadway and a witness saw another car hit it and then drive away around 8 p.m. May 17.
Distressed Boat: Firefighters responded to a report of a distressed boat at the Bishop's Rock in the Hudson River near Scarborough around 12:30 p.m. May 18.
Arrest: Police charged Nicole K. Kande, 29, with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony, and second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, a felony, May 18. Kande was arraigned on $2,500 bash bail or $5,000 bond. She was taken to the Westchester County Jail.
Damaged Car: A woman reported her car was struck while parked on Benedict Avenue on the Hackley School property around 8 p.m. May 17.
