Tarrytown School District Receives Clean Audit

SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. – The Union Free School District of the Tarrytowns received a clean audit or unqualified opinion for the 2010-11 school year, the board of education said it was informed at a recent meeting.

According to the board, the audit is conducted on an annual basis, and has for the past few years, been clean. A clean audit means that the school district is in compliance with the law, the board said.

Kathleen Hauber from the CPA firm Korn Rosenbaum, LLP noted that the audit did not find any material adjustments that needed to be made. Hauber also said there were “no material findings of non-compliance or significant suspicions in your internal control structure.”

Hauber and school board President Joseph Lillis both noted that the board's audit committee had discussed the audit in detail before the meeting.

Last year, the school district had a total of six different audits, said John Staiger, assistant superintendent for business. The financial audit accepted at the most recent meeting will be sent to the state, Staiger said.
