TARRYTOWN, N.Y. Tarrytown police charged a 19-year-old man after finding he was driving a stolen car during a traffic stop.
Byron F. Criollo has been charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth-degree, a misdemeanor, and aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle in the third-degree, a misdemeanor.
Police stopped Criollo on White Street around 11 p.m. on March 22, when an e-justice check found that his plates were stolen out of Ossining. Police impounded the vehicle and transported Criollo to headquarters for processing.
Criollo was released on $100 cash bail.
Police also reported the following items:
Harassment: A Crescent Drive resident reported that his next-door neighbor has been harassing him by videotaping him while he walks his dog. The resident also reported his neighbor began to scream at him over walking his dog, then reached behind the door and grabbed an umbrella and waved it in his face.
Counterfeit Sales: A caller reported that someone was apparently selling counterfeit merchandise from the trunk of his gray Chevy by Patriot's Park on North Washington Street around 5 p.m. on March 24.
Walgreens Theft: Walgreens reported that an unknown male stole a basket full of merchandise and then fled the store around 5 p.m. on March 24.
Assault: A domestic dispute on Embree Street around 4 p.m. on March 24 led Tarrytown police to charging Robert J. Scogna, 50, with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor.
Car Leaves Accident: A car that rear-ended another car at the intersection of North Broadway and McKeel Avenue continued driving north to Ossining after the accident around 8 p.m. on March 23. Tarrytown Police notified Ossining Police, who located the driver and issued a summons for leaving the scene of an accident.
Harassment Charge: Police charged a 59-year-old woman with second-degree harassment, a violation, on March 23. She was released on $500 cash bail.
Underage Drinking: A security supervisor from the EF school reported to police that house parents saw two underage students walked into Grape Expectations on March 22, where they purchased alcohol without showing ID. The parents stopped the students and confiscated a bottle of Johnny Walker Black and another bottle of Grey Goose Vodka.
