Tarrytown Named One of "America's Prettiest Towns"

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – Forbes has named Tarrytown one of “America's Prettiest Towns

The list of 10 towns throughout the United States was selected on recommendations from experts at National Geographic, Fodor's, Travel Channel and the author of a book about towns in the Northwest, Forbes explained.

“Some locales have changed considerably in the last few decades, while others have remained the same for centuries,” Forbes said. “All offer not only aesthetic reward, but also memorable activities and destinations nearby.”

Tarrytown was cited for its history, including Washington Irving and the Underground Railroad. Forbes also noted robber baron Jay Gould's mansion and the former Tarrytown Film Festival, which was hosted by '70s and '80s film critic Judith Crist.
