Tarrytown Continues Water Main Project

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – Those white PVC pipes residents see along a few Tarrytown neighborhood streets are part of a village project to improve the water mains in some areas, Village Administrator Michael Blau said.

“The lines are the temporary bypass lines,” he said.

The project includes cleaning and adding a cement mortar lining to pipes in the Crest neighborhood and some other streets, including Leroy Avenue. Blau said the project was approved in the 2011-12 Capital Budget.

Blau said residents will be notified just before the village begins using the bypass lines. The project should take one month to complete, Blau said.
