Stolen Cars Prompt Irvington Police Warning

IRVINGTON, N.Y. – Irvington police are reminding residents to lock their cars and homes after three vehicles were stolen near the southern end of the village.

Police said a 2007 BMW was stolen around 5:30 a.m. Thursday on Havermeyer Road. A 2010 Toyota was stole around 6:45 a.m. on Deep Hollow Close, police said.

A third car was stolen in Dobbs Ferry on an adjacent street to the two thefts in Irvington. Police note that all three cars were unlocked and had keys left inside them.

Irvington Police Sergeant Michael Foley said police had no suspects at this time. Foley also said police assume the three thefts were related.

“Residents are reminded of the importance of locking your vehicles and securing the keys inside your residence,” police said in a press release. “Also, remember to lock your homes as well; thieves will often move past locked vehicles and homes in search of unlocked property.”
