TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – Grab something green and get ready for a great time.
The 17th annual Sleepy Hollow St. Patrick's Day parade takes place Sunday in Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow.
Tarrytown resident Kitty Geissler will lead the parade as the Grand Marshal, followed by Tarrytown resident Noreen Herighty Nee, Sleepy Hollow resident Peggy Slavin, Hastings resident Patricia Phillips Lacy, Cortlandt Manor resident Robert Green, Irvington Village Justice Desmond Lyons, Dobbs Ferry trustee William Flynn, Hastings resident William “Otto” Otivich and Mount Pleasant Town Clerk Patricia Brennan Scova.
The festivities will begin with a 10 a.m. mass at the Transfiguration Church in Tarrytown, with a reception to follow. The parade will begin on Main Street in Tarrytown at 1:30 p.m.
Elected officials, bands, organizations and residents from around the area will march in the parade, which winds up Route 9 and onto Beekman Avenue in Sleepy Hollow. Parade officials will host a reviewing platform at the intersection of Beekman and North Washington Street.
This year's parade is dedicated to volunteers at Phelps Memorial Hospital “who have not only served the hospital well for more than fifty years but have been a strong and loyal presence in the community.”
