Sleepy Hollow Resident Samuel A. Long Dies

Samuel A. Long, a longtime resident of Sleepy Hollow, died on August 29, 2011. He was 71.

Mr. Long was born August  21, 1940 to Gordon and Rose Annicchiarico Long in Brooklyn. He served in the United States Army.

He was employed as a foreman for General Motors Corp. for 30 years and also worked at Green Rock for 15 years. He was a past member of the North Tarrytown Auxiliary Police.

Mr. Long married Claudette Bellefleur on August 15, 1964 at St. Teresa of Avila Church in North Tarrytown.

He is survived by his son, Richard (Marisa) Long of Orangeburg, and his two grandsons, Steven and Dakota. He was predeceased by his wife, Claudette, in 2009 and his son, David, in 2003.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Coffey Funeral Home in Tarrytown. His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at St. Teresa of Avila Church in Sleepy Hollow. Interment to follow at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
