Sleepy Hollow Police Rescue Newborn Deer

A newborn deer is waiting at the Sleepy Hollow Animal Hospital for a licensed animal rehabilitator to take it home and allow the deer to get stronger before being released back into the wild.

Sleepy Hollow police found the deer on the side of County House Road on Thursday around 3:30 p.m.

Veterinarian Brian J. Green said the newborn was still unable to walk or stand, but it was “otherwise healthy.”

Green said he expected the animal rehabilitator to pick the deer up soon and begin the process of getting it strong and healthy.
