Sleepy Hollow Police Help Deliver Baby Boy

SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. – It's a boy!

Sleepy Hollow police helped deliver a baby boy early Friday morning after responding to an emergency call on College Avenue. The department received a call that a woman was having complications with her pregnancy. When they arrived, Police Officers Wendy Yancey and Steven Dougherty found the woman was in labor.

Officers, along with several civilians, were walking the woman out of the building to meet the ambulance when they realized the baby was going to be delivered. Officers put the woman in the back of a police vehicle, where a healthy boy was delivered at 1:38 a.m.

Mother and son were taken to a local hospital by the Sleepy Hollow Ambulance Corps.
