Sleepy Hollow Police Charge Two With DWIs

SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. – Sleepy Hollow police arrested two men Saturday for driving while intoxicated.

Police arrested Sleepy Hollow resident Jose Piedra, 47, on Teresa St. around 7 p.m. after he struck and slightly damaged a police car while driving. The officer inside the car was unhurt.

Piedra has been charged with a felony DWI and was taken to Westchester County Jail. He will appear in court Monday.

Police also arrested Tarrytown resident Alberto Quizphi, 37, in a separate DWI case on Saturday.

Around 6 p.m., Quizphi was involved in a traffic accident on Cortlandt St. and fled the scene, police said. Tarrytown police later found Quizphi's car on North Washington St. and notified Sleepy Hollow.

Police charged Quizphi with aggravated driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident and other traffic violations. Quizphi's blood alcohol content was .22.

Quizphi has been released on bail and will appear in court on October 24.

A 17-year-old Mt. Kisco resident was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on Friday around 9 p.m. after police made a traffic stop at the intersection of Beekman Ave. and North Washington St.

Police arrested and charged a 36-year-old Sleepy Hollow man for unlawfully dealing with a child after officers responded to a domestic disturbance report on Howard St. around 1 a.m. on Sunday.

A report of a fight on Cortlandt St. on Sunday around 3 a.m. caused police to arrest a 55-year-old Sleepy Hollow resident and a 24-year-old Ossining man for disorderly conduct. The Ossining resident has also been charged with criminal mischief after he kicked and broke a window on a police car, police said.
