Sleepy Hollow Police Charge Teen With Burglary

SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. – A 17-year-old man has been charged with third-degree burglary and second-degree criminal contempt after Sleepy Hollow police said he broke into a home on North Washington St.

Police responded to a report that someone was breaking into a house through the window around 3:40 a.m. on Saturday.

When the first officer arrived at the residence, police said the teenager was fleeing. The police officer chased the teenager on foot to Valley Street, where the 17-year-old was apprehended.

The teenager was treated for cuts he received while breaking a window, police said, and taken to the Westchester County Jail. He will appear in court on Monday.

The teenager's name was not released because he is a minor.
