Sleepy Hollow Mayor Swears In Elected Trustees

SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. – Sleepy Hollow Mayor Ken Wray changed the order of Monday's meeting so that the Pledge of Allegiance came after new trustees were officially sworn in.

“I wanted to have you all sworn in so we could do this together,” he said.

Three recently-elected Sleepy Hollow trustees were officially sworn-in Monday night during a special board of trustees meeting in front of friends and family.

The board welcomed incumbent and newly-appointed Deputy Mayor Karin Wompa, as well as newcomers Jennifer Lobato-Church and Susan MacFarlane.

The trio ran on the Democratic and Better Government lines against Sleepy Hollow Independent Party candidates David Bedell, Daniel Scott and Sean Roach.

“We look forward to working with all of you very closely,” Wray said.

Lobato-Church and Wompa brought their kids to the ceremony and Wray took note of their presence with a smile several times during the meeting. When things got particularly rowdy, Wray joked he was “glad the kids are having a good time.”
