SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. -- David Martinez, 19, was sentenced to 21 days in prison plus probation at this week's Sleepy Hollow Justice Court.
Martinez failed to comply with the terms of his probation. Justice Andres Valdespino urged Martinez to follow the terms of probation after he was released from jail, telling him to do what the Department of Probation wants you to do because they would not be as kind if he failed to follow probation again.
Jimenez Sentenced
Michael Jimenez, AGE, was sentenced to 10 days in jail after pleading guilty for charges of aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree, unlicensed driver and no stop lamps.
Charges Dismissed
Ana L. Cabrera, 27, saw her charges of criminal mischief in the third degree and burglary in the third degree dismissed after two witnesses did not show up for her non-jury trial.
According to Cabreras attorney, one of the witnesses wouldnt appear and the other one didnt want to appear. Assistant District Attorney Robert Docherty told Valdespino that he was not prepared to proceed without the witnesses and he didnt see that he would be prepared if the case was adjourned.
Valdespino dismissed the charges because of the difficulty in continuing.
Mejia Sentenced
Jorge F. Mejia was sentenced to a $300 fine and a 90-day license suspension, as well as attending programs such as the Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) victim impact class.
Mejia pleaded guilty to reduced charges of driving while ability impaired. The District Attorneys office reduced his charges from driving while intoxicated, first offense, and driving while intoxicated .08 of 1 percent because he didnt hurt or hit anyone else.
Zhunio Sentenced
Paul Zhunio was sentenced to a $200 fine after he pleaded guilty to reduced charges of harassment in the second degree. A final order of protection was also put in place.
Traffic Charges Reduced
Berbelyn M. Almonte appeared in court on charges of operating a vehicle with suspended registration and blocking a crosswalk.
Almonte cleared her suspension, so Docherty reduced her charges to operating an unlicensed vehicle. Almonte was given a $40 fine.
Wilson E. Chacon appeared in court on charges of operating a vehicle with registration suspended, operating a vehicle with no insurance and unlicensed driver.
He pleaded guilty to reduced charges of unlicensed operation of a vehicle. He was sentenced to a $300 fine.
