Sleepy Hollow Justice Court Handles Various Cases

Several cases were heard Monday in Sleepy Hollow Justice Court. Included among them were:

Driving Charges: Horatio Reyes, 45, made his first appearance in Sleepy Hollow Justice Court Monday on driving while intoxicated and other motor vehicle related charges.

Reyes is charged with, driving while intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle without a license and leaving the scene of an accident.

Tarrytown Police arrested Reyes on May 27 after he struck several cars in both Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow along Depeyster and North Washington streets.

Reyes remains in jail on $1,000 bail or $5,000 bond. The case was adjourned until June 20 so his attorney can establish facts about the case.

Restraining Order Violation: Torre Campbell, 46, appeared in court for sentencing after a jury convicted him of second degree criminal contempt for violating a restraining order.

Campbell’s lawyer, Bruno V. Gioffre Jr., argued for a conditional discharge.

“This wasn’t a situation where you had an act of violence,” Gioffre said.

Village Justice Andres Valdespino disagreed, following the Department of Probation’s recommendations that Campbell receive probation and an order of protection be issued for the victim. The victim had a restraining order against Campbell, which he violated by sitting next to her in a courtroom.

Campbell has 30 days to appeal the sentence.

Warrant Issued: The Court issued an arrest warrant for Edwin F. Gomez, 34, for failure to appear. Gomez is charged with several traffic law violations.

False Impersonation: Teron Fleming made his first appearance in court Monday. Fleming is charged with false impersonation and operating a vehicle without a license. Fleming’s bail was set for $750 and his case was adjourned until June 20.

Criminal Mischief: Ana Cabrera, 27, pleaded not guilty to charges of criminal mischief and criminal trespass. Cabrera will have a non-jury trial on June 27 at 3 p.m.

Reckless Endangerment: Ryan Demichele’s case has been closed after he accepted a plea in Greenburgh Town Court. Demichele, 22, had been charged with numerous traffic violations, including reckless endangerment and fleeing officers.
