SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. A man pleaded guilty to one charge of forcible touching Monday while the Sleepy Hollow Justice Court was in session.
Acting Justice Alfred J. Farella sentenced Walter Roldan, 23, to three years probation and a $250 fine. A hearing will be scheduled to settle the issue of whether Roldan will have to register as a sex offender.
Roldan was accused of fondling a 13-year-old girl and originally charged with two first degree counts of sexual abuse.
Garcia sentenced
Juan A. Garcia, 28, pleaded guilty to a false impersonation charge and was sentenced to a $350 fine after the district attorneys office reduced his original charges of false impersonation and fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Garcia was arrested in February 2011 after he lied to police and gave them his brothers drivers permit.
Palmer pleads not guilty
Mark Palmer, 29, pleaded not guilty to second degree harassment charges. Palmer allegedly threw a garbage can at another person. Farella issued a temporary order of protection and the case was adjourned to August 1.
Pena pleads not guilty
Mark Pena, 18, pleaded not guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana and a village ordinance violation of trespassing. Farella adjourned Penas case until August 8 so that Pena could discuss how the charges would affect his probation.
Quinn seeks better plea deal
Jacob Quinn, 32, has been offered a plea from the district attorneys office for his charges of fourth degree criminal mischief, third degree assault and second degree harassment. But Quinns attorney asked the case to be adjourned to August 15 so that he could seek a better deal.
Marijuana, weapon, fireworks
Tyrone R. Adams, 28, made his first appearance in court on charges of third degree criminal possession of a weapon and possession of marijuana, as well as village ordinance violations of having an open container, being in the park after dusk and using fireworks. Adams was released on his own recognizance, and his case was adjourned to July 25.
