TARRYTOWN, N.Y. Republican presidential front-runner Mitt Romney may have raised more money from Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow residents during the 2012 election, but President Barack Obama has pulled in more donors.
Romney has received a total of $158,750 from 11 donors as of April 9, according to OpenSecrets.org, a project of the Center for Responsive Politics. The research group, based in Washington, D.C., is tracking money in U.S. politics.
Obama, on the other hand, has raised $20,607 from 30 donors throughout Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown.
Most of Romney's fundraising has come from the Restore Our Future political action committee, which was set up to support the candidate. John A. Griffin of Blue Ridge Capital donated $100,000 to the committee. EAM Services LLC also donated $50,000 to the Restore Our Future group.
Other Democratic groups have also received donations from residents: The Democratic National Committee Services Corp has raised $44,825, most of which stems from a $30,800 donation from New York Knicks' Allan Houston and a $10,000 donation from Jeremy Fiegelson of Debevoise and Plimpton LLC.
An individual is permitted to give $2,500 to a candidate for the primary season and another $2,500 for the general election. There is no limit on the amount of money an individual or group can donate to a political action committee.

Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has received $1,000
