IRVINGTON, N.Y. A water main break on Riverview Road between Circle Drive and Irving Place has been fixed, Irvington Village Administrator Lawrence Schopfer said, but the road remains closed because the break damaged the road itself.
We hope to have things temporarily repaired by later today or tomorrow so the road can be reopened, he said in an email.
The village notified residents around 8 p.m. of the break and the automotive detour to the access road through the Abbott House property. Schopfer said the main was fixed around 1:30 a.m.
Crews are currently working on repairing the road. Schopfer said a date for the permanent repair of the road will be scheduled in the next week or two.
Officials are urging people to avoid the area.
