Brave residents will swim in the icy Hudson River on Saturday, beginning at 11:30 a.m., at Matthiessen Park.

Mayor Brian Smith leads the fund-raising race so far, followed by Jonny Kashkin and Kristy Schmitt.

“We are looking forward to another great event,” organizers said in an email to village residents. “You don’t want to miss out!”

The annual program raises funds for programs in the Irvington Recreation and Parks Department.

Last year's event raised funds for July 4th Fireworks, summer camp scholarships and senior transportation, among other things.
