- Former U.S. Rep. Peter A. Peyser, who died at 93, was remembered as a caring, loving family man who switched political parties to stand by his convictions.
- Sleepy Hollow High School junior Katie Smercak has been named national honoree by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at this year’s Nike Half Marathon in San Francisco to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
- County Executive Rob Astorino announced that 10 Westchester high school seniors including Sleepy Hollow’s Murphy, who have shown exceptional commitment to their local communities, have been selected as recipients of the Westchester County Youth Board’s 2014 Milly Kibrick Youth Service Awards.
