Historic Hudson Valley Celebrates Holiday Season in Sleepy Hollow

SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. – Storyteller Jonathan Kruk tackles the Charles Dickens' classic “A Christmas Carol” as part of several upcoming Historic Hudson Valley holiday events in Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown.

Kruk's latest performance will take place at the Old Dutch Church from November 25-26 and December 3, 10 and 17.

“This lively re-telling, complete with musical accompaniment, brings to life Charles Dickens’s classic tale of Ebenezer Scrooge and the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future,” Historic Hudson Valley said in a press release.

Tickets are selling for $16 for adults and $12 for children. Performances take place at 4, 5, 6 and 7 p.m. on each night.

Historic Hudson Valley will also celebrate Thanksgiving at Washington Irving's home, Sunnyside, with “Holiday Premiere.” The activities will take place from November 25-27, with costumed tour guides focusing on historic traditions of the winter holidays, according to Historic Hudson Valley.

The events at Sunnyside will also include hands-on workshops. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, $6 for children ages 5 to 17 and free for children under the age of 5. Historic Hudson Valley members get in free.

Sunnyside will also host candlelight tours in December, bringing 1850s Christmas to life, Historic Hudson Valley said. Caroling, hot cider and excerpts from Washington Irving's Christmas tales and letters will be part of the event.
