Tarrytown Theater Director, Eckerle Dies at 56

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. - Raymond M. Eckerle, of Tarrytown, died suddenly on Feb. 16. He was 56.  

Born Dec. 17, 1955 in Bronx, N.Y., he was the son of Alfred and Angelina Eckerle. He graduated from Mt. St. Michael Academy in 1973 and Iona College in 1977. Eckerle worked in client sales for Staples Corporate in New York City.

A local theater director with a penchant for thrillers, Eckerle directed "Dial 'M' for Murder" at the Pound Ridge Theater last November and "And Then There Were None" at Greenville Community Theater in Scarsdale in December of 2010.

He is survived by his domestic partner MaryAnn Cahill, her daughter Angelia Ferrara, his brothers Joseph Eckerle of Crawfordville, Fla. and Lawrence Eckerle of Millwood, N.Y., his sister Mona-Marie Kuceluk of Bayside, N.Y. and several nieces and nephews.  

A memorial visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday at Leach & Thomas Funeral Home in Ossining.
