DelGaudio, a Sleepy Hollow resident and music teacher at Armonk's Wampus Elementary school, wrote an album of songs to help fund his effort.
"We hit our goal with two days to spare," DelGaudio said of his indiegogo online fundraiser that began on April 7. "As we approached our deadline things really picked up and a lot of support came through. It was a real team effort. It had created a buzz."
DelGaudio said he found more than 150 different contributors from all walks of life -- old camp buddies, camp professionals, high school friends, family and other musicians.
"And a big effort came from a network of people involved with a community theater company called Pantomonium Productions," he said. "I think it was much more meaningful that we had a lot of people give a little bit, rather than one or two parties funding the whole project. It proves this is a project that the community will get behind."
