JCC on the Hudson's May Burnett said the tournament, which will run from 3-5 p.m., can accommodate 32 players ages 5-12 with a minimum of 12 players to run the event. The Top Four players will win trophies and all players will receive medals.

"All Beys are welcome except those that have batteries," Burnett said. "The tournament will be held here, at the JCC on the Hudson at 371 S. Broadway (Tarrytown)."

Beyblade is a brand name for a line of spinning top toys originally developed and manufactured by Takara Tomy in 2000. The toys include a 'launcher' – a device for bringing the spinning top up to speed. Players eject the tops into a plastic arena, with a slightly dished base, where they subsequently strike each other. The last top still spinning wins.

Player check in starts at 2:30 p.m. with a charge of $5 a player and $5 for a raffle ticket. Pre-registration is required by noon Friday.

Beybladers can register by calling the front desk at 914-366-7898. Questions may be emailed to Burnett at mburnett@jcconthehudson.org .
