Sleepy Hollow Plans Oktoberfest Celebration

SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. – Grab your lederhosen and head down to Sleepy Hollow for a traditional Bavarian celebration.

Sleepy Hollow is having its own Oktoberfest from 2-6 p.m. Oct. 6 at the new bathhouse at Kingsland Point Park.

“Come check out the newly restored bathhouse and enjoy a fun afternoon with friends and neighbors,” Trustee Bruce Campbell said.

The village's Parks and Recreation Committee is sponsoring the event to draw people into the recently-opened and restored bathhouse, which was paid for with a donation from Sleepy Hollow resident Kathryn Davis. The bathhouse also houses an educational center and kayaking instructor during the summer season.

The Ocktoberfest festivities will include music and a variety of beers and German foods prepared by Sleepy Hollow restaurants Finalmente and the Bridge View Tavern. There also will be hot chocolate and cider.

Campbell said General Motors also will open up its waterfront path, allowing residents to walk from Horan's Landing to Kingsland Point Park.

“Everyone is welcome to come take part in this popular centuries-old tradition,” Campbell said.
