Saturday 5K Run/Walk Honors Tarrytown Woman

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow residents will honor the memory of a Tarrytown woman on Saturday.

The Crest Pool will host the annual Robin Birrittella Memorial 5K Run/Walk. Birrittella, 51, was a real estate broker who died of cancer in 2010.

“As a tribute to Robin, we have an annual 5K race/walk to commemorate the anniversary of her passing,” event organizers Lisa King and Karen Doyle wrote on the event's website.

The race will help raise funds in support of families affected by cancer and provide a scholarship to a Sleepy Hollow High School student.

A free fun run for kids will take place near the Crest Pool lot at 8:30 a.m. for children who are elementary school-age or younger. Organizers are also planning to provide a bouncy house.

Runners will begin their race at 9 a.m., with walkers starting about five minutes later.

The Crest Pool is located at 70 Midland Ave. in Tarrytown.
