The event will take place from 1:30 to 3 p.m at 371 South Broadway. Attendees will get to meet therapy dog Fozzie and his handler, Stefani Cohen, a social worker at Westchester Jewish Community Services,who will talk about how service dogs and other animals help heal.
The program will also discuss how social workers and animals at a therapy petting zoo in Israel bring comfort to victims of trauma.
In honor of Sept. 11, letters and pictures will be made for the staff at the Israel Trauma Coalition, where more than 40 organizations help individuals and communities coping with violence.
