Joining the ever popular Best of Film Series (now in its sixth year) which will run one night each month, ITHT is adding two new series that will play throughout the season in alternating months: The Irvington Stage Door and Cabaret on the Hudson.

Irvington Stage Door presents readings of new works in progress in a relaxed setting without sets, costumes or props. This new Monday night reading series (a night notoriously dark on Broadway) hosts productions heading to New York City -- stopping by Irvington with a group of professional actors who will present these pieces complete with a talk-back session with the creative team.

Next up: "Wendy's Shadow," a modern take on "Peter Pan," at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24 -- just in time for its live broadcast on TV.

“The country is gearing up after last year’s "Sound of Music Live!" telecast for NBC's second live musical -- to be shown the first week of December,” said Theater Manager Greg Allen. “We are thrilled to bring a modern take of that story to Irvington the week before people will be gathered in front of their televisions.”

For Cabaret on the Hudson, ITHT has partnered with NiCori Studios and Productions to bring some of the best cabaret artists from New York City, Westchester, Rockland, and New Jersey. The next show is at 8 pm. on Monday, Dec. 8.

The Irvington Theater is located at 85 Main St., 591-6602, www.irvingtontheater.com.
