In just a few years, through concerts and recordings, De La Salle has established a reputation as one of today’s most exciting young artists.
The New York Times said, “Ms. De La Salle is eminently musical; she offers depth as well as virtuosity.” Born in Cherbourg in 1988, De La Salle started playing the piano at the age of four and gave her first concert, broadcast live by Radio France, when she was nine.
At age 13, she made her concerto debut in Avignon with Beethoven`s Piano Concerto No 2. Her 2005 Bach/Liszt recording was selected as Recording of the Month by Grammaphone Magazine; her 2008 recording of Liszt’s, Prokoviev’s and Shostakovich’s final concertos was similarly honored.
Between 1997 and 2004, De La Salle won numerous competitions including First Prize in the 2004 Young Concert Artists International Auditions in New York.
For adults, single concert tickets are $30 each. Students ages 18 and under are admitted free of charge. Ticket order forms may be downloaded from www.friendsofmusicconcerts.org and then mailed with a check to Friends of Music Concerts, P.O. Box 675, Millwood, NY 10546.
