Registration for participants will take place from 6:15 to 7:30 a.m. Participants, sponsors and volunteers are being asked to park in the GM lot on Beekman Avenue, not Kingsland Point Park.
Individuals and relay teams from the Tarrytowns area will be competing in the triathlon, which is sponsored by the Westchester chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
The race begins at Kingsland Point Park. Triathletes will swim half a mile, bike 10 miles and then run 3 miles. The swimming portion of the race will take place in the still cold water of the Hudson River.
The biking portion will start at Kingsland Point Park, head west on Palmer Avenue, turn south on Munroe Avenue, east on Devries and the take Bellwood Avenue to North Broadway/Route 9. Bikers will then head west on Route 117, turning around at the intersection of 117 and Bedford Road. The race continues on 117 until it becomes Kendal Way, where the bikers will turn onto the Phelps Memorial Hospital Center campus, continue on to Phelps Lane, North Broadway and then Hemlock Drive. Participants will then bike on Hemlock Drive, Pokahoe Drive and Riverside Drive, ending back at Kingsland Point Park.
Runners will start at Kingsland Point Park, running along the GM property's waterfront to River Street. They’ll then head up River Street and back to the waterfront along the Castle Oil and Hudson Harbor properties, running nearly the entire length and turning around alongside the Tarrytown Boat Club.
The racers will head back down the course to Kingsland Point Park for the finish line.
An interactive map can be found on the Triathlon’s website. Donations can be made to teams or individuals on the website as well.
