Scheduled highway closures could cause delays for Long Island drivers in the coming days. Both directions of Sunrise Highway are slated to close nightly at Ext 54 in Brookhaven for approximately five nights beginning Monday, Dec. 11, according to the Department of Transportation. Scheduled road work could spell delays for Long Island drivers in the coming weeks. Starting Wednesday, Nov. 15, one eastbound lane of the Ocean Parkway will close in the town of Babylon between the Gilgo State Park 4x4 entrance and the Robert Moses Causeway. The New York State Department of Transportation has advised motorists to expect delays as a stretch of the Hutchinson River Parkway is set to close for days due to construction.
