Full Closures Scheduled For Stretch Of Sagtikos State Parkway Scheduled closures on a Long Island highway could spell delays in the coming days. Both directions of the Sagtikos State Parkway are scheduled to close in the Town of Islip, between the Long Island Expressway and Crooked Hill Road, beginning at 10 p.m. Monday, April 1. The roadway will shut down nightly until 5 a.m. for approximately four weeks to facilitate a project improving connectivity to Crooked Hill Road from the Long Island Expressway, the Department of Transportation said. Lane Closures Scheduled For Stretch Of Sunrise Highway In Islip Scheduled roadwork on a busy Long Island roadway could cause delays for drivers in the coming weeks. In the Town of Islip, the right and center lanes of eastbound Sunrise Highway (Route 27) will be closed nightly at exit 48 from 10 p.m. to 6 am. beginning Sunday, Jan. 21 and lasting two weeks. The northbound right lane of Locust Avenue will also be closed during those times, according to the Department of Transportation. Health officials reported that six new mosquito samples taken in Suffolk County tested positive for the virus, bringing the total to 104 mosquito samples and four birds that have tested positive for West Nile this summer.
